ABOUT
Britt Banks is an award-winning director and screenwriter, dedicated to amplifying the voices of women and girls of color. Her profound short film THICKE, which delves into the aftermath of police brutality, has garnered numerous awards and grants. Her award-winning short film BLUE LACES, was acquired by Magic Johnson's Aspire TV and has screened internationally at Academy Qualifying Film Festivals. In 2023, Blue Laces screened at the prestigious Directors Guild of America.
A graduate of the University of California, Irvine, Britt has 15 years of experience in the entertainment industry including network TV experience as a previous employee of NBCUniversal's Content and Production department. In addition to directing and writing for film, Britt works as a digital imaging technician and media manager.
Britt is a cohort of Ryan Murphy Productions' Half Initiative Director shadowing program, a recipient of The Future of Film is Female spring 2024 pre-production grant, a Black Life Film Festival grant winner, a Film Impact Georgia grant finalist and runner up, and a quarter-finalist for the Atlanta Film Festival and the Screencraft Horror Competition.
