Britt Banks is a prolific film director and screenwriter from Long Beach, California. After working several years in the legal field, Britt decided to pursue a career in directing and writing for film. Britt has directed and written several award-winning short films. She has also gained network TV experience as a previous employee of NBCUniversal in the Content and Production department.
In 2019, Britt was a guest speaker for Cal Arts "Extensions of Horror" Critical Studies Resident Series. Britt was a panelist for Horror in Color and ISA's discussion on Diversity in Horror alongside Angelica Ross and Tananarive Due in 2020. Britt was also a panelist alongside Tales from the Hood creator, Rusty Cundieff, for the series' 25th year anniversary and its impact on Black Horror.
Britt explores themes of survival, grief, and systematic racism in her work.
